In Mrs. Shue's room, first graders were busy choosing guided reading centers and and sharing what they like to do with the Ripple reporters. Dayanna and Alssa both love Elephant and Piggy books and they LOVE library because they LOVE reading! Reading would be even better if they could read on a trampoline! Meanwhile, in Mrs. Harvey's kindergarten classroom, Isabella was busy at her Kid Writing. She loves to work with her classmates because it is fun and she also enjoys going to art and gym. Isabella reported that she loves reading books like, The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Keep reading, Kindergarten! Second graders in Mrs. Blankenstein's room were researching Penguins. We heard there are big things going on in that vertical team about penguins. Kelsey, Carson, and Angel also told the Ripples that they like to write stories in their free time about dogs. They all enjoy math time and wouldn't add a thing to their classroom! Must be a great place to learn!

Mrs. Wenger's students were writing personal narratives about playing soccer. The teacher gave them an assignment and they were working on their own. Ja'Ziyah and Liam like when they get to choose the activity or the story topic. However, they both reported that they like to work on their own because they get the work done faster. A favorite activity is playing Around the World.
Thomas and Liam visited Mrs. McNamara's room and talked with Sophia, Rose, and Justice. They were playing a subtraction game and were having fun doing the activity with each other. The students really like to play Roll to 120. They would love to have extra blocks for this activity! Some first graders were trying Reflex Math for the FIRST time! How exciting!! Addyson and Morgan caught Mrs. Glover's class coming back from special and settling in to Morning Meeting. The class was sharing using a Lightning Share and choosing their own topics. The teacher chose the activity. The student the Ripples chatted with likes when they play games. What are we learning?

Morgan and Adyson found Destiny and her friend writing about Mrs. Dick. It is the best thing she has ever written. She loves working on her iPad and working by herself because, "I'm a big girl."
Ninja reporter, Thomas met Amari and Jack working hard in Mrs. Knisley's room. The boys were working on a bus school activity. They were working on an activity picked by their teacher about bus rules. They like working with each other and other classmates. Amari and Jack thought it would be good if they had bigger markers and more toys at school! Olivia was coloring by words in Mrs. Blessing's classroom this morning. Harmonie and Faith asked her if she liked working by herself or with others and Olivia said she likes to work by herself because she likes making up ideas. She likes making stuff in school. Her classmate Mazzy was working on Raz Kids. Mazzy likes working with her classmates because if she gets stuck on something, they can help her. Her favorite book this year has been Molly and Thanksgiving! |
